Abstract:   (50 Views)
Objective: This study quantitatively analyzed addiction-related studies and identified the main research clusters, their conceptual dimensions, and key topics within each cluster. Method: This research was conducted using bibliometric techniques and co-word analysis. A total of 1,389 documents were extracted from the Islamic world science & technology monitoring and citation institute (ISC) database to identify trends in addiction-related research. Cluster analysis and strategic diagrams were employed to map the conceptual structure of the research and identify sub-fields and the relationships between them in this area. Results: The research findings indicated that the conceptual structure of this domain is composed of nine clusters, including: tendency towards addiction in adolescents, internet addiction, loneliness and social feeling, substance addiction and prevention, virtual space and social rejection, personality traits and addiction readiness, the role of family in the issue of addiction, impulsivity and addiction treatment, and mental disorders and behavioral addiction. Emerging topics were identified through content analysis of the articles. Conclusion: The emerging clusters require research development and reinforcement of theoretical-applied links to become future focal points. This research can assist policymakers and researchers in formulating strategic plans, identifying research gaps, and clarifying future directions for further research in this field.
