Purpose: The present study aims to investigate the effectiveness of a self-healing approach-based treatment on resilience and compassion in addicted men quitting in Zahedan.
Method: The research used a semi-experimental design method with a pre-test, post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the study comprised all addicted men referring to addiction treatment centers in Zahedan in 2023. A sample of 30 people was selected using purposive sampling and was randomly assigned to two groups of cases (15 people) and controls (15 people). Participants in both groups completed the resilience questionnaire and compassion scale in the pre-test and post-test stages. Self-healing treatment was implemented in the experimental group during ten 90-minute training sessions. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance.
Findings: Based on the findings, the self-healing approach-based treatment increased resilience and compassion in the experimental group.
Conclusion: The study recommends using self-healing training to increase self-care skills in addicted individuals in addiction recovery.
