هدف: هدف از پژوهش حاضر تعیین نقش میانجی بی‌حوصلگی در رابطه بین توانایی‌های شناختی با آمادگی به اعتیاد در دانش‌آموزان بود. روش: روش پژوهش توصیفی-همبستگی از نوع معادلات ساختاری بود. از میان دانش‌آموزان پسر متوسطه دوم شهر خرم‌آباد، 200 نفر به شیوه نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای چندمرحله‌ای انتخاب شدند. ابزارهای مورد استفاده در این پژوهش شامل پرسشنامه توانایی‌های شناختی، مقیاس چندبعدی حالت بی‌حوصلگی و مقیاس آمادگی به اعتیاد بود. به منظور تحلیل مدل پژوهش از مدل معادلات ساختاری با استفاده از نرم افزار AMOS24 استفاده شد. یافته‌ها: یافته‌ها نشان داد که توانایی‌های شناختی بر آمادگی به اعتیاد اثر مستقیم معناداری داشت و بی‌حوصلگی در این رابطه نقش واسطه‌ای معناداری داشت. در مجموع، نتایج نشان داد که مدل از برازش مطلوبی برخوردار بود. نتیجه‌گیری: پیشنهاد می‌شود سیستم‌های آموزشی در راستای بهبود و پوشش توانایی‌های شناختی گام برداشته و به سازه‌های مرتبط و مؤثر بر آن توجه داشته باشند، که زمینه برای کاهش بی‌حوصلگی فراهم شود و نتیجه آن می‌تواند کاهش آمادگی به اعتیاد باشد.
