Objective: The present study aimed to provide a structural model of high-risk behaviors based on a sense of coherence and self-compassion, with the mediating role of emotional self-awareness. Method: The research method was descriptive-correlational, specifically a structural equation model. The statistical population consisted of all female second-grade high school students in Qom. A sample of 200 students was selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. The research tools included the high-risk behaviors questionnaire, the sense of coherence questionnaire, the emotional self-awareness questionnaire, and the self-compassion questionnaire. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS-24 software was employed to analyze the research model. Results: The findings showed that a sense of coherence, self-compassion, and emotional self-awareness had a significant negative effect on high-risk behaviors. Furthermore, a sense of coherence and self-compassion had a significant positive effect on emotional self-awareness. In addition, the results indicated that a sense of coherence and self-compassion had a significant indirect effect on high-risk behaviors through the mediating role of emotional self-awareness. Conclusion: The findings of the present study highlight the necessity of paying attention to a sense of coherence, self-compassion, and emotional self-awareness as influential factors in high-risk behaviors.
