Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the job prospects of recovered drug addicts after returning to work. Method: The present research method was qualitative based on phenomenological approach. The target population included all people suffering from substance abuse one year after drug rehabilitation in Shahrekord city in 2021, 15 of them were selected by purposeful and snowball sampling. Data was collected by semi-structured interview method and thematic analysis was used for data analysis. Findings: From the total data, 3 main categories were extracted under the title of achievements, job, the factor of continuous improvement and future perspective. The career achievements of people suffering from substance abuse included independence, self-concept, planning, consultation, hard work, spirituality, increasing income, and acquiring knowledge and expertise. Job, the factor of continuity of recovery, includes the subcategories of job preventing pathological thoughts, and the future perspective includes the subcategories of improving job status in the future, supporting others, and changing the living environment. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this research, people who have recovered from addiction have gained the ability to have a vision of the future career. Recovered people will be able to provide the means for their progress and growth by taking advantage of other people's job support, financial planning and environmental changes.
